My title has nothing to do with this post, but Bryan wanted a shout out.
The weather has not been great and yesterday was no exception. It was really rainy! I met Leigh Ann on Canal (after taking the subway - I'm just like a New Yorker) which is kinda on the outskirts of China Town. Leigh Ann had found a couple of places in China Town she wanted to share with me. I'm telling you we were in the depths of China Town.........if we had walked much further we would have been in the East River.
The first place we went to was Prosperity Dumpling - talking about a hole in the wall. My shower in Houston isn't much smaller than the area where you eat and order. It was so worth it! We had 5 pork & chive fried dumplings, 2 sesame pancakes, 4 pork fried buns, & 2 waters for a whopping $6.00 total. Such a deal and it was wonderful.
Then we went to another place called, Big Wong. There we had roasted duck and pork - both were delicious. I think we were the only round eyes in the restaurant.
It was fun and I'm glad Leigh Ann had found these places. I got to tell you I'm not that brave on trying hole in the walls, but I would recommend these.

Entrance to Manhattan Bridge which goes to Brooklyn. Isn't it beautiful? It looks like Paris.
The weather is fabulous today and big things are planned.

ReplyDeleteYou have become a New Yorker with all your hole-in-the-wall places to eat and your subway riding.Just do not come back to Texas with that accent!LOL!

Love that Leigh Ann knew of these offbeat whole in the wall spots to take you to - looks yummy!
ReplyDeleteNot sure I would've ventured there on my own either! That bridge entrance does looks like it belongs in Paris! You really are capturing some neat spots!
Sounds like so much fun! Were the menus in Chinese? That's always an adventure!
ReplyDeleteLooks even better than you described! I like hole in the wall places but would have walked right by that one.
